AANP OncANP Preconference

From Jacob Schor, ND, FABNO, 2013 Speaker Selection Committee Chair - I wear so many different hats that some days I need to look in a mirror to sort out which particular one I have on. Am I wearing my OncANP board president hat, my AANP conference planning hat, my NMJ editorial hat, or any of the others that I kind of lose track of?

Mitigating the harmful effects of Galectin-3 with Modified Citrus Pectin

The AANP Conference Planning Team would like to introduce Issac Eliaz, MD, LAc, MS, as a guest blogger for the 2013 Annual Conference Blog. He will be leading a Vendor Workshop, Friday, July 12, from 11:15am to 12:00pm, in Keystone, Colorado.

Reflections from a Speaker Selection Committee Member

Dr. Jaclyn Chasse, AANP Board and Speaker Selection Committee Member, shares why the Keystone will be an experience unlike any you can have in Phoenix, Seattle, or Portland and why she is ready for July.

An Apology

Dr. Jacob Schor, Speaker Selection Committee Chair, has been reading abstracts for weeks. There were about 130 submissions and about 20 will be selected. The optimist in him is thrilled by the number and quality of the abstract; the curmudgeon is letting out a big sigh, wondering when it will all be over. . .

Oppositional Defiant Disorder and Colorado

What is Oppositional Defiant Disorder or ODD? Why is it so tricky to get licensure passed in Colorado? What made Dr. Michael Cronin, AANP President, look "trout-like" on his recent trip to Keystone? Is the deadline for abstract submission going to be extended? Dr. Jacob Schor, AANP Conference Speaker Selection Committee Chair, explains it all and more.

Colorado Att(Alt)itude

Jacob Schor, ND, FABNO, AANP Conference Speaker Selection Committee Chair, explains the Coloradan attitude, altitude and culture. The naturopathic physicians in Colorado are looking forward to hosting you in their home state in July 2013.

Turning Back

Jacob Schor, ND, FABNO, AANP Conference Speaker Selection Committee Chair, proposes hiking Herman Gulch with Michael Cronin, ND, AANP President, and discusses how the speaker selection committee will choose abstracts for the 2013 conference in Keystone, Colorado. There are two things the committee hopes to find in abstracts submissions. First is whether a lecture changes the way of practice. Call this the Monday Question. Will you tell your patients something different the Monday after the conference after listening to a lecture? This second item is more elusive than the first. It is what the committee calls, “Paradigm Shifting.” Does this lecture fundamentally change the way you might view an issue related to practice?
