BEDFORD REPRESENTATIVE JOHN CEBROWSKI RECEIVES THE 2012 CHAMPIONS FOR HEALTH AWARD
Honored for his perseverance in assuring New Hampshire citizens have affordable access to prevention-oriented Naturopathic Doctors

BEDFORD, NH, November 12, 2012 -- The New Hampshire Association of Naturopathic Doctors announced its first recipient of the 2012 Champions for Health Award, Bedford Representative John Cebrowski (R). The Champions for Health Award honors an individual who has demonstrated leadership and dedication to providing more clinically and cost-effective healthcare to NH citizens.

Rep. Cebrowski sponsored NH House Bill 351, a bipartisan bill which would allow patients to receive insurance coverage for services that would be covered when provided by other doctors.  This bill made it possible for patients to receive insurance coverage for necessary screenings and expands patient choice in the state.

“Representative Cebrowski became a strong advocate for naturopathic medicine when he learned how effective and cost-effective it was for patients and the medical system”, explained Dr. Jaclyn Chasse, ND, of Northeast Integrative Medicine in Bedford.  “Representative Cebrowski saw that naturopathic doctors can help to offset our state’s growing provider shortage and provide cost-savings to insurers and patients.”  HB 351 was signed into law in summer 2012, including naturopathic doctors as covered providers in individual insurance plans and allowing patients to get coverage for allowed services when they are provided by NDs.

“We are honored to grant the Champions for Health Award to Rep. Cebrowski, and he is beyond deserving.  His support for not only NDs, but also Dental Hygienists, Nurse Practitioners, and other prevention-oriented, lower cost providers will truly allow NH’s citizens to access great, affordable health care.”  Rep. Cebrowski received this award on Saturday in Nashua, NH, in attendance of his wife, Amanda, and 150 Naturopathic Doctors from around New England.
