The DC FLI + Chronic Pain Seminar: Two Great Events, One Goal, One Price
Health Care is Changing - Get in Your Seat

Registration is open for the AANP DC FLI – our premier legislative event, which takes place April 29-May 1. This event will bring the naturopathic profession together to increase recognition on Capitol Hill. The DC FLI will immediately follow our Natural Approaches to Chronic Pain: Effective Alternatives to Opioids seminar. Both events take place at the Hyatt Arlington - Crystal City, and will feature prominent NDs as well as invited speakers from Congress and the federal agencies.

Given the start of a new Congress and Administration, the AANP has a sterling opportunity to demonstrate the value of naturopathic care in reducing the nation’s epidemic of chronic pain. Together, the events will provide a springboard for NDs and students to rally support on Capitol Hill.  The FLI weekend is always insightful, fun and exciting, building camaraderie as well as comfort in speaking up for the profession.

Learn more and register here for the DC FLI and here for the Natural Approaches to Chronic Pain seminar.

Early bird registration for both events closes on February 28.

Did You Know? Track ND Legislation on the AANP Website

Many of you are aware of the AANP Legislative Action Center (LAC), an area of the AANP website where members can monitor state and federal issues involving naturopathic medicine and take action at the grassroots level. But did you also know you can monitor state bills and actions, too?

The bills section of the LAC enables the AANP to monitor bills to license Naturopathic Doctors across the country, and it allows state leaders to set up grassroots alerts for constituents to take action. Visit the LAC page and you’ll see that bills to license Naturopathic Doctors are currently pending in Illinois, Indiana, and Mississippi. The LAC bill area also tracks scope expansion and other naturopathic medicine bills, which are currently pending in Colorado, Connecticut, North Dakota, Oregon, and Washington state.

Check it out and be sure to bookmark the link - bills are added as they are filed.

Tell Congress to Rein in the FDA on Compounded Medications

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is doing all it can to prevent patients of licensed Naturopathic Doctors and other health care professionals from having access to safely compounded medications, especially as administered in the doctor's office without a patient-specific prescription.

Please take a moment to urge your Representative in the U.S. House to sign a letter to the FDA Commissioner, telling the agency to leave "office use" alone.  Here’s the link.

Please note: if you want a friend, peer or colleague to take action, too, send them the exact same link

Together, we can preserve access to much needed compounded medications across the country.
