Geotracking Contest

The Future of Medicine Celebrating the Foundation of Medicine

Welcome Naturopathic Medical Students!

Congratulations to University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine For Winning This Year's Contest!

Bring a Founder to the DC FLI

May 1-3, 2010 the AANP will be holding its annual Federal Legislative Initiative, or DC FLI. As part of this and the AANP's 25th Anniversary theme of "Celebrating the Foundation of Medicine," a geotracking contest has been launched at US naturopathic medical schools.

Keychains depicting Dr. Benedict Lust, one of the founders of naturopathic medicine, have been distributed to each of the student representatives at Bastyr, NCNM, SCNM, and UBCNM. The goal of the contest is to bring your school's keychain to the DC FLI by exchanging it between as many classmates as possible and logging it here. The school with the greatest percentage of the student body logging their progress will be awarded a traveling trophy.

Instructions
When you have received the Dr. Lust keychain, go to www.geocaching.com/track and select "Log In" on the upper right hand side.
If you are not a member of the site, create a log in and select the free basic membership. Validate your account. On the left hand side select "Trackable Items" and enter your school's ID number listed on the green tag attached to the keychain.

You will be brought to your school's contest site. On this site you can see where Dr. Lust has gone, how many of your fellow students have participated, and sign up to track his progress. Under "Trackable Item Options" select "Found It? Log It!" Go to "Discovered It," enter the date, and any comments you'd like to post. After posting a comment you'll have the ability to upload a photo via the link on the upper right hand side.

Extra points will be awarded for photos: In Dr. Lust's birthplace of Baden, Germany, at the Hahnemann Monument in DC, in front of the US Capitol, outside of the US, and next to your school's sign.

Once you have logged Dr. Lust's progress, pass him onto a friend. Remember, he needs to eventually get to Washington, DC for the FLI!

The greatest percentage of the naturopathic medical student body which has logged Dr. Lust's progress will be awarded a traveling trophy at the 2010 DC FLI.
