In April 2013 , we held elections and have a number of new people on the Board. Yours truly as president, Liz Kaltman was VP for a number of months before leaving the state, Allison Willette has generously stepped into that role; Janet Beaty stepped up as secretary and Lisa Arnold continues on as Treasurer. Our immediate past president, Lori Dibacco also serves on the Board. Shiva Barton chairs our Legislative Committee.

Our year was spent with ongoing work to attain licensure for NDs in the state which has taken up the bulk of our time and efforts. We hired an additional lobbyist with stronger political connections in the State House to help with our legislative effort. The Bill is currently sitting in the Joint Committee for Health Care Finance; we learned this week that Speaker of the House DeLeo will be exerting his considerable influence to get the Bill moved from the Committee and on to the House for a vote.

While we have been busy with working on our licensure efforts, we have dedicated some time to getting our operations in order and increasing our media exposure (both social and more traditional). We had a very positive article appear in the Worcester paper editorial section followed up by an op-ed piece by one of our members. MSND is now on Facebook! Please take a moment to like our page and visit it for routine updates.

We have conducted a membership drive, and cleaned up our mailing list. We are overhauling our website to make it more user friendly both to members and visitors. We are also in the process of reviewing and updating our bylaws. A generous $10,000 grant from Emerson Ecologics will help us implement our revised strategic plan in the New Year.
