This year is shaping up to be an extremely active one for state associations’ advocacy efforts. Licensure bills have been or will be introduced in the following 11 states:
  • Massachusetts
  • Pennsylvania
  • New York
  • Rhode Island
  • Illinois
  • Iowa
  • Michigan
  • Idaho
  • Nevada
  • North Carolina
  • Mississippi
Meanwhile, seven more states are pursuing scope modernization, particularly expanded prescribing authority. These include Arizona, California, Washington, Montana, North Dakota, Connecticut, and Colorado. More power to the leaders of all these state associations, who are taking the proverbial bull by the horns in advocating for expanded patient choice in natural medicine.

AANP’s State Alliance is equally active in supporting state efforts – whether in the beginning phases of pulling resources together or pushing through to enactment. Monthly webinars exchange experience and insight, and face-to-face meetings (such as at the one that will take place at the DC FLI) – are instrumental the same way.
